Puccini’s superb melodrama of heroism, betrayal and sex in 19th century Rome is one of the most popular operas in the world.
The action unfolds at a hectic pace, while still leaving time for some of Puccini’s best-loved music. The hero Cavaradossi, his lover Tosca and the evil chief of police Scarpia are among the greatest characters ever created for the operatic stage. It is the perfect opera for newcomers and experienced of opera-goers alike. WEOS present this fully staged version, with orchestra, sung in English and in authentic costumes and settings of the period.
