Intermediate Yoga

Led by Julie Potter

This class is suited to those who have been practising for at least 6. My intention for this class is to move our practise forward, explore different avenues and approaches to the traditional postures. We will be aiming to be going deeper into ‘awareness’ and ‘noticing’.

The yoga I teach is an evolution of over 20 years of practice and study, perhaps moving away from ‘external’ evaluation of the postures and moving towards an ‘internal’ sense of the postures, moving away from the more used traditional approach of systemised yoga to a more experiential approach. Whilst looking at traditional Hatha Yoga postures and pranayamas, I will be encouraging fun and freedom within the traditional structure, whilst taking into our awareness fundamental anatomical and functional aspects required by our bodies for maximum wellbeing benefits.

Please bring a blanket, a yoga / Pilates mat, and wear loose comfortable clothing.

Align and Flow Yoga

Led by Deborah Le Vene-Page.

Align and Flow Yoga is influenced by the biomechanics and heart orientated philosophy of the Anusara Hatha style of yoga. With a specific alignment focus within the flow of postures the practice will tone and strengthen the body, improve posture and create more freedom in the body and mind resulting in a calm and relaxed state of being.

Each week there will be a different theme weaving its’ way through the session, but a typical class starts with breathing techniques to centre and ground, poses to warm up and then progresses to a fun and challenging mix of vinyasa and alignment yoga.

This class is designed to cultivate focus, stamina, strength, and flexibility. Leaving time at the end for a well-deserved relaxation.

Come prepared for an energising class that will also leave you feeling relaxed.

Martin Turner ex Wishbone Ash

Martin Turner and his band return to the stage to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Wishbone Ash’s seminal double live album Live Dates.

Wishbone Ash was formed by West Country musicians Martin Turner and Steve
Upton. They were intent on creating a musical sound that was rich in texture and melody. Martin Turner envisaged the band’s innovative harmony-guitar hallmark. Guitarists Ted Turner and Andy Powell were recruited via a now legendary Melody Maker advert.

Wishbone Ash forged a unique musical identity that would produce some of rock music's best loved works. Their name is synonymous with high quality guitar-driven melodic rock music.

Martin Turner continues to delight audiences with performances of the band’s best loved works. His current line up features guitarists Danny Willson and Misha Nikolic, and drummer Sonny Flint.

They capture the original Wishbone Ash line-up at its very best during the peak of its commercial success. Expect epic tracks such as The King Will Come, Warrior, Throw Down the Sword and Phoenix.

Acoustic Guitar - Absolute Beginners

Led by Jim Maving

Always wanted to learn guitar but never got around to it? Want to trade your air guitar skills for real guitar skills? It is never too late to learn. Learn guitar right from the very beginning. This is a foundation course for those with little to no experience of playing guitar. You will learn how to hold a guitar and to make the right noises out of it. The aim of these lessons is to get you playing your first song within 4 weeks of lessons, as no-one takes up guitar to strum random chords, it’s all about the songs.

If you are returning to guitar having not played for some time and can barely remember chords this is a great way of getting back into the swing of things.

If you've never played guitar you need to book on the Absolute Beginners course!

These classes are split by skills level;

Beginners A - Recently completed the Absolute Beginners course but still some way to go. Yet to tackle bar chords and complicated rhythms.

Beginners B - Well on the way and able to do bar chords

Beginners C - Almost Intermediate but not quite yet.

Beginners/Gentle Yoga

Led by Julie Potter

This class is particularly suited to beginners, those returning to yoga having had a break, those with specific injuries or conditions or even those that consider themselves to be of a ‘certain age’ that might need a less challenging approach. We will cover general breathing practises, the basic and gentler postures, together with general information and possible discussion around movement and the potential difficulties we might come up against.

The aim will be to relax and enjoy.

The yoga I teach is an evolution of nearly 30 years of practice and study, with a broad experience of many styles and teachers. In recent years I have been moving away from ‘external’ evaluation of the postures and moving towards an ‘internal’ sense of the postures, moving away from the more used traditional approach of systemised yoga to a more experiential and ‘felt’ approach, influenced by teachers who have been inspired by the teachings of Vanda Scaravelli.

Baby Signing

Led by Funky Monkeys

Have you ever wondered what your baby is thinking or feeling? Would it help if they could communicate those thoughts and feelings to you?

Sign & Rhyme teaches parents/carers and their little ones, simple sign language that enables them to communicate before speech takes over. Just like waving and clapping, your baby can learn to tell you when they’re hungry, in pain or just that they’ve seen a dog! This is empowering to them and hugely rewarding for you! In most cases babies who sign learn to talk sooner than their non-signing peers.

Signs are used in class, like actions, to accompany songs and nursery rhymes and with an array of props, puppets, instruments and the use of disco lights, bubbles and parachutes to enhance the sensory experience and make learning more fun.

There's also:
* Free on-site parking

Daliso Chaponda - Feed This Black Man Again

Daliso did his first show Feed This Black Man 20 years ago. The jokes were mediocre, there was a rap about poverty in the middle (which was as offensive as you might imagine) and the big finale involved a sandwich on stage.

20 years later, Daliso has done the Royal Variety Performance, written and performed four series of Citizen of Nowhere on BBC Radio 4, been a Britain's Got Talent finalist, toured nationwide and abroad... all sorts of things the 22-year-old Chaponda would never have imagined possible.

So, Feed This Black Man Again is a do-over, as the now widely-loved comic revisits the themes of that ancient debut show with the considerably enhanced comic talents that two decades' experience brings you.

Along the way he'll examine the huge differences between the way you think life will be at twenty, and the reality. Probably no sandwich at the end this time.

'Full of sharp one-liners and well crafted gags...a real talent' ★★★★ Metro
'Gets laughs out of topics other comedians shun' The Guardian
'Brilliantly bold, thoroughly engaging and provocative' Wee Review

Jonny & The Baptists: The Happiness Index/Ten Thankless Years

A double bill of two shows in one night, from cult multi-award winning musical-comedians Jonny & The Baptists.

A brand new hour of songs and stories about why we are (or are not) happy; and a retrospective of our first decade making riotous, satirical (and silly) “work”.

The Happiness Index
Are you happy? We can help! Five Prime Ministers ago, David Cameron started a happiness index to measure how joyful the people of this nation are. Which is ironic, given what he then did. Anyway, we’ve picked up the baton and now are trying to find out what the hell we should do with it. A new personal and political show about our desire, and the country’s struggle, to just be happy.

Ten Thankless Years
The country's absolute best (but not most popular) musical comedians present our greatest hits, from a decade of being wildly under-appreciated. After a sell-out, five-star run at Edinburgh Fringe 2023, we’ve understandably decided to take this cash-cow on the road.

'An hour of glorious chaos. A must-see' ★★★★★ Sunday Post

'A proper belly-laugh show' ★★★★★ British Theatre Guide

'Wickedly funny' ★★★★ The Times

'Excellent, irresistible and winningly random' ★★★★ The Guardian

'You'll mainly leave feeling warm and fuzzy.... note perfect' ★★★★ Metro

Feel Me

Presented by The Paper Birds Theatre Company.

Who do you care about and why?

Feel Me is a new interactive theatre show from The Paper Birds, UK leaders in devised verbatim theatre. Feel Me asks, via your mobile phone, who and what you care about from the stories unfolding live on stage in front of you.

A stunning mixture of live performance, film, projection, dance and music, Feel Me will explore the different lenses through which we are told, and connect to stories in the modern digital world.

Worlds unfold from backpacks, and tents are constructed and dismantled again, each scene and location temporary, like a transient teenager in search of safety, acceptance and a new place to call home. An interrogation of empathy, Feel Me asks what makes us ‘feel’ for another person, as we journey through landscapes and across borders, through weather storms and paperwork, changing seasons, endless queues and interviews.

Please note: All performances have integrated captions

This show contains mild strobing in the projections, loud noises and atmospheric haze.

The Lost Trades

An exciting Folk and Roots Trio who recently released their second album Petrichor.

The Lost Trades are a vocal harmony trio with a cool Laurel Canyon vibe. Three Wiltshire based singer songwriters (Jamie R Hawkins, Phil Cooper and Tamsin Quin) were brought together by a mutual love of modern folk and roots music, and joined forces in late 2019 for a three part harmony, modern folk adventure.

With a sound that is reminiscent of the California folk scene of the late 60s/early 70s, their vocal harmonies have been described as flawless, spine tingling and magical.

After a global pandemic cut short their first tour after just a single sold out gig, the band retreated to their songwriting rooms to work on their debut album, 'The Bird, The Book & The Barrel'. The album was released in June 2021 and was well received, spending 8 months in the Official UK Folk Albums Chart.

The follow up 'Petrichor' was released in March 2023 and immediately followed suit, entering the chart at #31.

A live performance involves easy interchanging of instruments, with each of the three playing guitar, bass and percussion at different points. There's always a fun intimacy to the show, with the three engaging in comfortable repartee with each other and the audience like a group of old friends.

As see on, QI (BBC), Alan Davies As Yet Untitled (Dave), Rhod Gilberts Growing Pains (Comedy Central), Apprentice 'You're Fired' (BBC), Pointless Celebrities (BBC) and headlining Live at the Apollo (BBC).

Emmanuel said today, "I'm thrilled to be back on tour in the UK with 'Curriculum Vitae'. Last year's tour was an amazing experience and selling out most of the shows was incredible! Writing this new show has been a lot more fun than writing an actual CV and, I get to be honest".

London based Emmanuel Sonubi's career in comedy started only a few years ago and quickly grew from strength to strength earning himself a reputation as "one to watch out for". A regular favourite on the comedy circuit, he is one of the most sought-after acts working today. Emmanuel’s credits continue to grow as does his popularity.

Sam Braysher featuring Annie Majin: Kurt Weill and the American Songbook

Sam Braysher’s new project explores the work of Kurt Weill, a fascinating composer who lies at the intersection of European classical music, jazz, opera and American musical theatre.

The London based jazz saxophonist, a regular performer at jazz clubs across Europe, has received international acclaim for his warm, delicate sound and deep knowledge of the standard repertoire and American Songbook.

He is joined by two rising stars of London’s thriving jazz scene: Annie Majin, whose charming, powerful voice is inspired by Barbara Streisand and the sounds of classic Broadway shows, and Hungarian pianist Matyas Gayer, who has played accompanist to jazz legends Eddie Henderson, Jesse Davis and others.

Expect to hear classic songs such as Mack The Knife, My Ship and September Song in addition to hidden gems from the Weill catalogue and music by adjacent American Broadway composers like Rodgers & Hammerstein, Gershwin and Harold Arlen.

The Persian Version (15)

Dir: Maryam Keshavarz 2023 | 107 mins

Coming from two countries at odds with each other, Iranian-American Leila strives to find balance and embrace her opposing cultures.

When her family reunites in New York City for her father’s heart transplant, Leila navigates her relationships from arms length in an effort to keep her 'real' life separate from her family life. However, when her secret is unceremoniously revealed, so are the distinct parallels between her life and that of her mother Shireen.

An honest portrayal of a woman who remains unapologetically herself, blended seamlessly into a heartfelt story about family, belonging - and the undeniable influence of pop music.

Winning both the Audience Award and the Best Screenplay Award at this years Sundance Film Festival, writer-director-producer Maryam Keshavarz delivers a compelling, intelligent and timely story of both the Iranian, and the Iranian-American, experience.

The New Radio Ballads - In the Footsteps of Ewan MacColl

Expect to be entertained and enlightened by songs of joy, love, hardship and humour.

A concert of songs and spoken word.

In the 50s and 60s Ewan MacColl along with Charles Parker and Peggy Seeger created the groundbreaking Radio Ballads broadcasts for the BBC Home Service covering a variety of subjects and using an audio documentary format to highlight the experiences of real people weaving the voices of rarely-heard communities with songs written from and about their recorded interviews.

Almost half a century later, in 2006, a new set of Radio Ballads were commissioned by BBC Radio 2 using the same format but this time involving a whole team of stellar musicians, singers and songwriters from the folk/acoustic/roots music scene under the guiding hands and watchful eyes of producer John Leonard and musical director John Tams.

Now three members of that team, Bob Fox, Jez Lowe and Julie Matthews, have put together a selection of songs from the 2006 new Radio Ballads for a concert performance In the Footsteps of Ewan MacColl. All three are consummate engaging performers of meaningful songs and stories and are multi-instrumentalists whose skills have been honed by decades of live touring throughout UK, Europe, Canada, U.S.A, Australia and New Zealand. They have all recorded extensively, worked in collaboration with many of the top folk roots artists and bands as well as having highly successful solo careers and are well loved and respected by audiences and colleagues alike.

Havisham

A journey into the psyche of Miss Havisham from Great Expectations.

Written and Performed by Award winning actress Heather Alexander.
Direction and Dramaturg by Dominique Gerrard.

If you knew my story, your heart would break too. A cobwebbed tale of heartbreak. This is the story that Dickens left out…

Who was the woman being behind Dickens’ most monstrous female creation? What condemned the hopeful young Miss Havisham to her cruel and fractured fate? Experience her heartbreak as we delve into her childhood trauma and follow her on an intricate journey to a world where she finds herself the leading lady in a drama she can’t comprehend. The gaslighting is subtle, the coercive control slick. Can Miss Havisham escape her twisted karma?

Havisham offers a fresh perspective of Dickens’ greatest work of Gothic characterisation and invites the audience to share poignant moments from her childhood in rural Kent and as a naïve young woman who arrives in London unprepared for the events which gradually consume her.

The story appeals to both fans of Dickens as well as those new to his stories and confronts how the ripples of fate can lead to devastating consequences.

‘Powerful, tense, heart-breaking’ ★★★★★ Broadway Baby

'Gorgeously written and packed with haunting imagery' ★★★★ The Stage

'This is a beautifully crafted piece of theatre, whether you are a fan of Dickens or not. The story stands strong alone' ★★★★★ WEBF

'Heather Alexander expertly mines the horror beneath Dickens’ most Gothic character' ★★★★★ The RECS

'Havisham stands out for its original and skilful narrative craft, as if characters and atmospheres were drawn from the pages of a literary piece, while simultaneously, opening a poignant contemplation on the power of trauma over the psyche and body of its sufferers' ★★★★ Theatre Weekly

Raíces - Rebeca Ortega

An unmissable evening of live authentic flamenco dance and music from Spain.

Flamenco dancer, Rebeca Ortega will be joined on stage by singers, Natalia Marín and África Granados also from Seville, and Ramón Ruiz Flamenco, a guitarist from Granada / London.

From the deepest roots of flamenco, this theatrically spun dance show tribute to women, is born from the tradition of flamenco culture, shaped by the luminosity of the alegrías, the depth of the taranto, the rhythms of the tangos and bulerías and the jondura of the soleá and the farruca.

On stage the cantaoras intermingle their lyrics representing the voices of the dancer's conscience - one expressing victimisation and melancholy - and the other the power to overcome and courage. In other words, this work shows a path of a woman, looking from the regret of the past, towards the uncertain and hopeful future.

Ania Magliano
Ania is a comedian based in London. She’s a triple threat (bisexual, Gen Z, bad at cooking). Her sharp, wry writing combined with her warm conversational performance style make her a glittering new talent (the i Paper) of the UK comedy scene.

Her 2023 stand up show, I Can’t Believe You’ve Done This, was nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Show, and sold out its entire Fringe run before the festival began. It received multiple 4 and 5 star reviews, with the Scotsman calling it a beautifully structured show and Ania a truly original voice with an impressive set of skills. The show was included in British Comedy Guide’s Best Reviewed Edinburgh Fringe Shows 2023 list and was the Number 1 pick in Time Out’s The 11 best comedy shows at Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2023.

Her debut hour of comedy, Absolutely No Worries If Not, won Best New Show at Leicester Comedy Festival 2022, and sold out entire runs at the Edinburgh Fringe and Soho Theatre. An extra date was put on at London’s Leicester Square Theatre for one night only. The Times described it as the sort of elegantly amusing, surprising and inspiring debut hour that you come to the Fringe to see, whilst the Guardian listed it as one of 10 Fringe Shows Not To Miss, saying it ‘will have you crying with laughter.

Ania has appeared on multiple podcasts, including picking what was described by Ed as one of the worst menus ever on Off Menu with Ed Gamble and James Acaster. You may have heard her on Radio 5 Live with Elis James and John Robins, Brett Goldstein’s Films to be Buried With, Pappy’s Flatshare, Trusty Hogs, Cuddle Club and The Moon Under Water. She has opened for Ed Gamble, Marc Maron and Catherine Cohen. She has also appeared on ITV2’s The Stand Up Sketch Show, Dave’s Get Off My Phone and Dave’s The Comedy Guide to Life.

As a writer Ania regularly works with comedian, journalist and viral sensation Amelia Dimoldenberg on Chicken Shop Date and Amelia’s Cooking Show, featuring guests such as Ed Sheeran, Charli XCX and Louis Theroux. She has written for The Emily Atack Show (ITV2), Frankie Boyle’s New World Order (BBC2), Newsjack (BBC R4) and The Now Show (BBC R4). Recently she’s written and created corporate content for major brands such as BeautyPie and PrimeVideoUK. She has written multiple well received columns for the Metro (UK), and also publishes her own newsletter on Substack to hundreds of readers. Ania has a growing social media following, including 25k followers on Twitter, and over 1 million views on Youtube with over 20k subscribers. She’s recently branched out into TikTok, amassing over 1.8 million likes. You may recognise her from one of her previous hair colours.

Simon Evans - Have We Met?

After finally solving the mystery of his existence and true identity in Work of the Devil, Simon finds that he has still not overcome the more daily challenges of remembering what he came upstairs for, who these grown-ups are that live with him (and what they have done with his children?) and how can that footage be from 2009, when he only bought those shoes a few months ago?

In Greek mythology, the Muses were the daughters of Mnemosyne, goddess of memory - though ironically, there is no easy way to remember her name. But Memory was thus clearly regarded by the ancient Greeks as the mother of the arts, wellspring of inspiration, the compost in which imagination takes rooty. Our last defence against tyranny, the consolation of the just and the seat of the soul. Without memory, the illusion of self crumbles. Mine, however, is shot. So where does that leave me?

Lost Communications 失絡之聲

Created by electronic musician, An-Ting, and creative technologist, Ian Gallagher, Lost Communications 失絡之聲 is a live audio-visual performance immersing the audience deeply into the light and darkness of nature.

A fundamental property of the natural world is interaction and communication. Every species in an ecosystem contributes to the harmonious symphony that it is a part of. We chose a long time ago to shut ourselves off from this, slowly at first, but with ever increasing speed, we have closed our hearts. We no longer hear the natural music around us. Lost Communications 失絡之聲 is an exploration of art, nature, and technology.

Travelling from the UK, through Mongolia, Sichuan and Hong Kong, Ian and An-Ting have recorded the songs of birds as the musical expression of the environments they found themselves in. What might they tell us if we were able to hear?

Lost Communications 失絡之聲 is co-commissioned by Videotage (Hong Kong) and Treasure Hill Artist Village (Taiwan).

The show later transferred to the Soho Theatre and is currently touring across the UK. Garrett is currently working on a new sitcom which previously recorded a pilot for Audible produced by Hat Trick Productions and starring Jack Dee and Meera Syal. Flash - A Tribute to Queen

Flash – Hit after hit, anthem after anthem, guaranteed to blow your mind, as quoted by the BBC ‘as close as it gets’.

Flash - A Tribute to Queen, established in 2001 brought together the finest musicians from several Queen Tribute shows to form a ‘best of the best’ live tribute to the musical legacy of Freddie Mercury and Queen.

Every member of the group has been creatively and technically inspired by Queen, each using replica equipment, adding that extra sound characteristic and obvious visual treat to the decerning fan, they take great satisfaction and pride in producing a show that performed in authentic costumes, brings back all the magic that made every Queen concert so very special.

Entering their 52nd year, Queen amassed a huge back catalogue of hit records and it’s been hard work trying to construct a show that captures their creative history in such a small amount of stage time - but the band guarantee the show to be a non-stop jukebox of the very best of Queen, hit after hit, anthem after anthem, with audience participation at a high from the very start.

Joni Reimagined

An homage to the songs of Joni Mitchell.

We are delighted to see the return of this homage to the songs of Joni Mitchell by an ensemble of world class singers and musicians with CV's to match! Following a sell-out run of two shows in the main room at Ronnie Scotts, a show at Norden Farm and other prestigious venues internationally.

Great songs are made for re-interpretation by great artists and each of these artists and musicians bring something of themselves in this show for a reimagining of favourites from Joni Mitchell‘s peerless song catalogue, featuring such songs as 'Woodstock', 'Big Yellow Taxi', 'A Case Of You', 'The River' and many more.

Ring-mastered by bandleader, arranger and bassist Stefan Redtenbacher, the project features a world class band of international musicians who have played with the likes of Bowie, Elton and Herbie Hancock, REDTENBACHER’S FUNKESTRA, a multi-million streaming band in their own right.

Both the shows and the CD feature elite vocalists who are both artists in their own right and who also share deep love for Joni’s music; vocalists such a Mim Grey (McCartney, Tom Jones, Dave Stewart), multi-million streaming, Radio 2 play-listed Jo Harman (who has duetted with Michael McDonald and Lamont Dozier) and highly regarded 'emerging artist' award nominee, Jana Varga.

Even the official Joni Mitchell website is on record as reporting ‘This collection of interpretations is REALLY good folks, and well worth a listen.’

Lucy Porter - No Regrets!

The irrepressible Lucy Porter bounces back into action with a show all about regrets.

Frank Sinatra had too few to mention, but Lucy’s got hundreds, and she’s prepared to go into graphic detail about all of them. Disastrous dates, professional calamities, ruined friendships and parenting fails. Lucy describes all the mistakes she’s made, works out why they happened, and ponders how her life would have turned out if she’d acted differently.

Lucy looks at the things we might all collectively regret - not sticking to the work-life balance we strove for during lockdown, not realising that clapping for the NHS wouldn’t be enough to save it, allowing people we thought were quite fun on TV to become politicians.

How does regret tie in with guilt and shame? As a middle-aged, middle-class, left-leaning ex-Catholic, guilt is one of Lucy’s top five hobbies (along with going to the garden centre, doing jigsaws, making bread and watching subtitled foreign dramas on Netflix. She’s also ashamed of all these hobbies.)

It’s not all negative though. If you regret something, you can use it to change your ways: see the thing you regret as your rock bottom, and let it spur you on to become a better person. Lucy looks at how she can use shameful or annoying things from her past to change her future.

Lucy regrets volunteering at the school fete when her kids were younger, because now she’s committed to being the Hook a Duck Lady twice a year for the rest of her life. Maybe she could learn to say No a bit more?

Sarah Keyworth - My Eyes Are Up Here

A brand new, joyous show about family, acceptance and a pair of big (well, not super big) losses.

It’s been a big year for Keys (aka Sarah Keyworth). Sure, they turned thirty, got diagnosed with ADHD and had top surgery, but perhaps the biggest adjustment is to the revelation that maybe their mum was right all along? Not about everything obviously, but they must concede that on teen drinking and being 'forced' to go on holiday, Keyworth Sr probably had some solid points.

On their choice to have surgery, Keys feels lucky in a lot of ways, especially when it comes to the people they have around them. That said, it was a long road and there’s still conversations to be had about their gender identity and what this means in a world that seems increasingly hard on gender non-conforming people.

But as Sarah goes home for the first time post-surgery, to celebrate their mum’s own milestone birthday, it’s the conversations with their nearest and dearest that have them reflecting on their year and asking some big questions.

What does acceptance look like? From whom does it matter? Is it OK to dance around your family kitchen with your new nipples out?

Russell Hicks - Happy To Be Here

Russell Hicks heads out on his first tour, but not his first rodeo. (Warning: This is a stand up show. NOT a rodeo.)

Russell Hicks is here to stay and he really is happy to be here.
So, why don’t British People believe him?

Hot off the back of a starring role in an Amazon Prime show that nobody watched, and was cancelled immediately, American Stand Up comedian Russell Hicks, lives in the UK where he allegedly performs stand-up comedy. Naturally, his parents still think he makes his money through some kind of illegal activity, so buy some tickets and help prove his legitimacy!

You may have heard Russell as the voice of Sky Comedy, seen him entertain studio audiences at ‘Have I Got News for You’ or caught him opening for the likes of Al Murray or ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ winner Axel Blake. He’s performed up and down this country, picking up three Leicester Festival nominations along the way. He’s even been officially declared a Global Talent by Arts Council England.

Known for his improvised performances, Russell has amassed millions of views online and gained a devoted following of fans who’ve come to know that no two shows will be the same. Considered one of the best improvisers in the country, Russell has appeared on some of the UK’s biggest networks. He has starred in several episodes of ITV’s ‘Stand Up Sketch Show’ and won the Channel 4 competition series ‘Captive Audience’ with his fully improvised comedy, and starred in Prime Video series ‘Lovestruck High’ narrated by Lindsay Lohan as the loveable Texan Coach Hughes.

Ian Stone is Keeping It Together

Ian Stone is a 'A masterful exponent of self-mocking Jewish humour' according to The Times, he’s been ranked 'one of the top ten comedians in the UK' by the The Independent and The Guardian said that he’s 'Seriously funny'.

His show at the 2023 Edinburgh fringe Ian Stone will Make it Better played to packed houses and won a Spirit of The Fringe award.

His new show is called Ian Stone is Keeping it Together. In spite of everything. What does it matter that he has all his own hair and teeth and keeps a tight control over his between meal snacking when the Tories are still in power, there’s war in the middle east and Donald Trump could be allowed back (back!!) into the White House? How can there be such terrible pain and suffering in the world even though Ian always rates his WhatsApp call, package delivery and parking experience? And what happens to all the pens he buys? These and other questions will get the answers they deserve.

Ian is a hugely experienced broadcaster, podcaster, writer and a brilliantly funny comedian. He performs at all the major comedy venues/festivals in the UK and around the world. He’s recently begun posting reels on Instagram, Tik Tok, Facebook and X and very quickly built up a following of over seventy thousand. His reels have had millions of hits.

When he’s not doing stand up comedy, Ian presents a football chat show on TNTSport. Guests have included Alan Davies and Omid Djalili as well as football legends Lee Dixon and Rob Lee.

He hosts the Handbrake Off Arsenal podcast for The Athletic. They recently did their first live show at a sold out Leicester Square theatre.

He wrote To Be Someone, a book about growing up as a teenager and loving The Jam. It’s had over five hundred four and five star reviews on Amazon and Goodreads. Paul Weller gave him a quote for the front cover.

For five years, he co-hosted the award winning Rock N Roll Football on Absolute Radio with Ian Wright.

Oysterband - A Long Long Goodbye

From their earliest days as a noisy, politicised ceilidh band in the late Seventies, Oysterband have never stopped evolving or providing soundtrack to the changing times.

The Oyster Ceilidh Band (as they were known then), were a band on a simple mission to get dancefloors bouncing. But with a chemistry between its members and music that made a profound connection with its audiences, greater things soon beckoned as the times became more complicated.

Emerging in the early 80s from their ceilidh band days they infused both the traditional and their own songs with a passion and energy that was electrifyingly fresh for the time.

Oysterband have been a constant and uplifting presence in music throughout the decades and have ratcheted-up dozens of studio releases throughout their career.

Their collaboration with June Tabor in 1990 produced the cult favourite album Freedom & Rain, and it was renewed 21 years later for ‘Ragged Kingdom’, one of the best-selling folk-rock albums of the new millennium.

Winners of several BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, including Best Band twice, Oysterband’s song-writing has never stood still, and hits such as The Oxford Girl, When I’m Up I Can’t Get Down (Best Song at the Canadian East Coast Music Awards, performed by Great Big Sea), Everywhere I Go and Put Out The Lights are now renowned staples of the folk canon.

The creative heart of Oysterband is still here after 45 years: John Jones (vocals, melodeon), Alan Prosser (guitars) and Ian Telfer (violin), with Al Scott, their longtime producer, on bass, Adrian Oxaal (cello and guitar) and newest member Sean Randle on drums.

They’ve travelled the world but they still play with the fire of that dance band back in Kent.
